A24 entered the indie film scene in 2012, and since then, the production company has come to dominate awards season for movies and TV alike. With acclaimed films like Best Picture winner Moonlight, Lady Bird, Hereditary, and Uncut Gems (among countless others), and hit television shows like Euphoria and Ramy under their belt, A24 has proved itself as a production company to watch. With a long list of upcoming projects of all kinds, here are 5 of those A24-helmed projects to look out for!

Mr. Corman (Streaming on Apple TV+ August 6th, 2021)

Ever wonder what Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been up to? This! Created by, written by, directed by, AND starring JGL himself, Mr. Corman is a comedy TV series about a fifth grade public school teacher who’s dream of making it in music hasn’t panned out. Co-starring sketch comedy veteran Arturo Castro, the series navigates the contemporary feeling of anxiety and inadequacy while attempting to make it big in your thirties. Get ready for rapper Logic’s first acting role and seemingly at least a few musical numbers.

The Tragedy of Macbeth (World premiere September 24, 2021, wide release late 2021)

Did you know that neither of the Coen brothers have ever directed a film without the other? Well, before this film, at least. Joel Coen of the Coen Brother’s first ever solo directorial venture is a retelling of Macbeth starring the one and only Denzel Washington as the Scottish King. Four time Oscar-winner and all around icon Frances McDormand co-stars as Lady Macbeth and also produces the black and white film. Shot entirely on sound stages to give a look described as ‘untethered from reality’, this film is sure to gain acclaim with its two powerhouse actors stepping into perhaps the most coveted and complex roles of all time.

Lamb (In theaters October 8, 2021)

Did someone say Icelandic folktale-based sheep horror? Valdimar Jóhannsson’s Lamb follows a childless couple on a farm in rural Iceland who discover essentially a human baby with a sheep’s head. The surreal film sees the couple attempt to raise the lamb/baby as their own, bringing them the child they’ve always wanted. Of course, things do not go as planned. With A24's characteristic slow-boil dread, Lamb has been likened to Robert Eggers’ 2015 Sundance hit The Witch, except instead of creepy goats in 17th century New England, Jóhannson’s directorial debut is all about creepy sheep in the stunning backdrop of Iceland’s grassy farmland.

C’mon C’mon (Scheduled for release late 2021)

Classic A24, releasing two black and white films in one year. Mike Mills’ second collaboration with A24 (following 2016’s 20th Century Women), C’mon C’mon stars Joaquin Phoenix as an artist left to care for his young nephew on road trip across America. Shot in black and white, three-time Emmy nominee Gaby Hoffman and Daily Show youth correspondent Jaboukie Young-White co-star in A24’s answer to the cross country roadtrip flick.

The Souvenir Part II (Scheduled for release late 2021)

A24’s very first sequel! Following on the heals of 2019’s The Souvenir, Pt II continues to explore the semi-autobiographical story of a young film student who falls into an intense relationship with an older man. Director and writer Joanna Hogg returns with a stacked cast — mother-daughter duo Tilda Swinton and Honor Swinton Bryne reprise their lead roles. They’re joined by Stanger Things’ Charlie Heaton, comedian Richard Ayoade, and Taylor Swift muse Joe Alwyn, with the man, the myth, the legend himself, Martin Scorsese, serving as an executive producer.
